Best Week Ever!!!

This week has been soo amazing in soo many ways!! Let me start out by saying that Monday was my birthday and I turned the big 2-8!! This year was actually a freebie for me because I kept thinking all year that I was twenty-eight when I clearly wasn't...ha! (mom brain) But anywho, those who know me know that my birthday is usually a week long celebration and this year was none the less!

We started it off celebrating my birthday at an intimate dinner with good friends at the new Cooper's Hawk Winery. There's nothing better than great friends, great food, and great wine all jam packed into one night :)

Then on Wednesday morning we had an amazing opportunity to be featured on Fox 13's Good Day Tampa Bay to do a Mother's Day gift segment! Since I am a Tampa native it was truly an honor to be part of such a respected morning show! And what a great time we had doing the segment!

(Best if you watch from a computer and not a mobile device)

As if the day couldn't have gotten any better, Danny topped it as he accepted a job offer with a wonderful new company!! Needless to say, Wednesday was a day full of celebration.

Now if we can rewind a little bit I have been dancing in my head (and in real life) all week because I will be attending my first blog conference next week and it's called ALT SUMMIT!!!! (in Oprah's screaming voice) haha!

Well, I won't actually be going to an Alt Summit blog conference, but they have created their first completely-online conference called Alt For Everyone <----yes that includes me!! This is absolutely perfect because I'm not in any shape to leave the kiddos behind just yet so virtual sounds fantastic! And to top it off one of my fav blogger Joy Cho will be the keynote speaker so I can only imagine how informative this experience will be!!

And now we are finishing off this fabulous week celebrating why we do what we do everyday! For our babies of course! I love my babies and am incredibly blessed to live the life I live with them.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Dough-lightfully Delicious!!

Last week I was able to have a much needed mommy's night out and take a sweet peek at the new Datz Dough gourmet bakery!

I was joined by my bestie, Vee, from One Social Brunette and we dined over doughnuts, gelato and bacon lattes! Yes, you read that correctly... a BACON latte :)

Anywho, when you walk into this place you feel like you are in a dream world. It's either because of the clouds painted on the ceiling or the rows of rainbow macarons staring me in the face...I'm not quite sure yet!

They had the mural on the ceiling painted three times and it is perfection! With hot pink chandeliers and checkerboard floors who wouldn't want to just stay here all day? Once you get past the beauty of the place we can focus on the most important part...the dough of course!

The doughnuts are freshly baked in house and I had the most decadent Chocolate cake doughnut covered in chocolate ganache that I have ever eaten! As you can see Vee was so fortunate as to grab a Macadamia nut one! And what better to pair my doughnut with than a bacon latte?

Are you ready for the skinny on the bacon latte? ha!

When I first laid eyes on this latte on the menu I thought, wow Datz has done it again! How could I not try it? So I went for it and it was divine! The bacon flavor was present but subtle enough to where the combination of maple syrup and the essence of bacon was flawless! Never had I expected it to be so amazing!

Here is me INDULGING in it...

We moved on over to the house churned gelato and I can only leave you with two words: peanut butter & Sriracha...ok so three words, but a must try! It doesn't even end there...they make over 300 loaves of bread weekly and have an amazing spread of assorted chocolates which you can see below...

This gem of a bakery is amazing and they have a whole menu that I have yet to explore! The best part of it all is that it's very close in proximity to my route that I take the kiddos jogging on in the heart of South Tampa, so I can already see myself stopping in for a treat after a grueling run! These kids are dough lovers just like their mother :)

Here is a pic of Vee & I before we left...can you spot the little piggy sugar bowls behind us??
Too cute!

Have you stopped in at Dough yet?

We Heart FL: Ybor City Part One

Yesterday we were extremely fortunate to experience some beautiful Florida weather for Danny's day off! We didn't waste any time and decided to take the kids for a stroll through the historic Ybor City. For those of you who are not familiar with Ybor City, it is a celebrated part of Tampa that is filled with Hispanic culture. It is actually considered a land mark that attracts tourists daily. And yes...I felt like a tacky tourist with my Canon in Ybor (which is in my hometown), but it's such an amazing place to get some great photos of the kiddos!

Anywho, we decided to stop at the renowned Gaspar's Grotto for lunch. They have a great patio which works out nicely when you are dining with a toddler and an 11 month old!
Danny and I like to think of ourselves as conch fritter connoisseurs so we had to try them. And they were pretty amazing-some of the best we've ever had!

The kids are beginning to do well with going out to eat as long as we keep it timely...

We even had time to squeeze in a little shopping after lunch...and of course, the boys stayed outside.

Sienna told me that she likes shopping, "very very much!"

A girl after my own heart...

Stay tuned for part two of our fun adventures with "les deux" in Ybor City!

Yay!! Welcome To My Blog!!

photo taken by Kimberly Hunter Photography

At some point in our lives we have all thought about having children. Some of us ponder if we are going to have children, when we will have children, how many children we will have, or even what gender they will be. I've definitely thought about it all, but one thing I didn't contemplate, was how far apart my children would be in age.
In the past two years Danny and I have been blessed with two beautiful babies only 16 months apart, Sienna (who just turned two), and Daniel (who is 9 months). Having children is life changing. Never did I imagine I could feel such a strong love for something so small, and twice none the less. I've been fortunate enough to stay home with them and spend hours round the clock at their beck and call. Now I'm not going to lie, these past nine months have been such a whirlwind! They have been some of the most trying times of our lives. But nothing beats seeing the love these babies have for each other as they topple over trying to give each other hugs and kisses (which I know will soon turn into wrestling).
Aside from raising the kiddos we have managed to embark on major home renovations, gone on exciting vacations, and everything you can imagine in between! So stay tuned to the many adventures of our life with les deux :)
